Back in time (July 17th)

Back in July, we took a trip up to Gloucester, VA for their annual Renaissance Festival.

This brave knight (above) is Sir Trevor, in almost 100 degree heat, with traditional battle attire! He went straight for the heavy stuff. The practice gear was much lighter, but Sir Trevor wanted to prove his strength to the fair maiden!
Sir Dru (above), our second brave knight, watch with worry and amazement as his brave brother struggled with the overpowering weight of this mesmerizing battle gear. This knight's first instinct told him to learn from his brother and test out the weight of the practice gear. Sir Dru often resorts to winning the fair maidens' hearts with a charming smile rather than a show of strength.
Rebecca watched her brothers try on this wild heavy metal equipment... and laughed!
Heidi was not interested in a legless horse or metal hats. She spotted a REAL fairy! This was no ordinary fairy, this fairy was special. She could paint magical pictures on the faces of those little ones who believed in fairies. I can't be sure, but I think Heidi found her own little idea of heaven.
Heidi stopped for a moment to let me take a picture of the beautiful dragon her new fairy friend painted on her face. It was a small festival, but the kids had a really good time.
