July is National Ice Cream Month, and Norfolk had a small festival set up to celebrate the occasion. I thought it might be fun to take the kids to Norfolk via the ferry rather than driving through the tunnel. So, I just told the kids that we were going somewhere fun. Then, I let their curiosity drive them nuts until we got there!
The kids thought this was a pretty cool view of Portsmouth. They still didn't know we were going to Norfolk to play at the Ice Cream Festival.
The kids thought the ferry boat was so much cooler than going through those boring tunnels all of the time! Who knew you could have so much fun?
There wasn't any "free" ice cream left once we finished our yummy lunch at Hooters, so Homer made a cone out of paper and glue! (It was enough to make me hungry, so we stopped at DQ on the way home!)
Homer got to make a bookmark with foam stickers... she is so creative!
We had to run to catch the ferry back to Portsmouth! It was lucky for us that there were lots and lots of passengers getting off in Norfolk. We made it just in time.
Needless to say, Rebecca didn't need any help getting to sleep...
